Lines: Neptune's Domain

The Sweet Matryoshka line and Sweet Acorn Jewlery line are now officially retired.

Which means I really need to get to work on my next line: Neptune's Domain!

The art for the line is completed, I just need to digitize it and make up the samples.

Here's a cobbled together sneak preview:

I will be embroidering these with my machine onto the skirts, one "motif" to either side of the front of the skirt.

The first release will be a skirt and/or vest done in a solid color in a very similar style to the Admiral Pirate set.

The embroidery and trimmings will be done in white or off white.  I've already picked navy, black, and brown as color choices.  What other colors seem right for the design?

  1. Oh that looks fantastic! I'm simply head over heels for anything remotely sea themed, and mermaids, by goodness!

I'm trying to think of another color that would be good.... If it's possible to do a reverse colorway (ie, white with black trimmings, etc) that would be amazing~ I think I'll most certainly get part of this line regardless, but I do much more enjoy wearing lighter colors than darker ones. Maybe a more sax blue or aqua would look nice?

(When will this be released, approximately do you think? I would like to make sure I have funds for it~)

  3. Lovely! I am really looking forward to seeing this one. My only color suggestion would be the reverse color-way like Princess suggested. I think off-white/cream with Navy embroidery would be lovely.

  4. I'm so glad you all like it! I probably won't be doing a reverse colorway for the vest and skirt set.

As a very small business I have to keep my materials cost down, and I can't really at this point afford to stock lace in colors other then white or cream. It does sound like a stunning look though!

I might do a Rose pink, the color has to be dark enough that the embroidery shows up well.

The second release of the series will be more sweet/classic rather then classic/gothic with lighter colors.

I'm hoping for some time in late June or early July!

  6. Ohh~ Well, I'm more inclined to the sweeter Classic, or regular Sweet, so I suppose I should wait for the second release?
    Thank you so much!~

    I can't wait to see it finished (>u< )!~

  8. This is very exciting! Can't wait to see a finished sample piece! I really don't know which one of the designs I love more.

I think a brown and offwhite colorway would be gorgeous! Maybe, as another color option, seafoam green and offwhite?

  9. THIS LOOKS AMAZING! I can't wait to get a copy of this! Perhaps a dark green embroidery on an olive green background would look nice ^^

  10. This looks frikkin awesome! I was thinking a seagreen/teal color base with gold or ochre embroidery to give it that neptune-y feel would be really sharp.
